February

We finally rode on the train!
The girls were saying, "Thomas! Thomas!" Anna brought her Thomas the Tank Engine book along for the ride.
We went exploring downtown between trains.
Mary went to a "doggie party."
We love the merry-go round!
Austin enjoyed his first carousel ride.

January

Mary's new phrase is, "Take my picture, Mom!"
Mary put on eight dresses before she asked me to take this picture.
Anna likes to help me cook. This time, she used a little too much wrist addding flour to the bowl.
Anna also likes to put on my makeup when she can find it.
Austin enjoys giving the girls rides in the baby dolly stroller. The girls have taught Austin how to tell "knock, knock" jokes. He says, "Knah knah!" When you ask, "Who's there?" he replies, "Nana Nana Nana Nana!"Here is the crazy buffalo we always look for on our way to the grocery store.
The kids like to help me read the morning paper.
Austin and Daddy were "match match" on Sunday morning.
This was our house on Sunday night. We love playing with Daddy.

Holiday Activities

The girls enjoyed putting up the tree.
The kids made most of the ornaments this year. Anna made lots of candy canes out of baked play dough.
Mary was a shepherd for the Christmas party at Grandma and Grandpa's house. Anna was "nussin'."
The kids got a tour of Grandpa's airplane. Anna enjoyed being copilot. Mary was a little nervous that we would take off and mostly stayed in the back.
We had fun making Crystal (Frosty's snow wife) in the backyard.
Austin cut out several gingerbread cookies himself.

Christmas joke from Mary

This morning while I was slicing a banana, Mary asked, "Mom, what's a bananta?" I laughed and replied, "I don't know what a bananta is."

She waited a minute and then announced, "A bananta is a banana that Santa Claus eats!"

A little déjà vu

I climbed up onto my parents' counter as a baby to sample some pumpkin pie.
Yesterday, Mary said, "We should make pumpkin pies!" So we did. We ate one pie and left the second on the stove. Today I heard a funny slurping noise coming from the kitchen. Here's what I found:

Mary initially tried to clean up the mess, but when she saw I was just taking pictures, she joined the party.
I'm still laughing about this one.

Visit with Santa

The girls were very excited to meet Santa at the ward Christmas party. Their favorite part was when the elf gave them a rainbow candy cane.
